Like any woman, I love fashion. However, being surrounded by the ubiquitous low cost-and often, low quality- clothes in Hong Kong, I started to wonder about the detrimental impacts of the fashion industry to our planet's environment.

With its extensive use of energy, raw materials and water, the fashion industry is responsible for a huge amount of our world's dangerously high pollution levels. Further, the industry is notorious for its lack of respect of labor laws and worker rights, particularly in developing countries. Finally, I am the life partner of an adorable and mischievous Dachshund and I cannot bear fashion's disregard for animal rights with the industry based so extensively on leather, silk, cashmere and fur goods.

As a mother, I feel it is my duty to leave future generations with a world based on environmental sustainability and respect for all living creatures. Hong Kong now boasts organic food options, eco-friendly baby products and much more- but no one has yet tapped the eco-fashion market.  Out of this, the idea for Lulu Hong Kong was born: chic, sustainable and high quality clothes for eco-conscious Hong Kong ladies!

Lulu Hong Kong believes that we as a society need to rethink the way we produce, consume and dispose of fashion. Lulu Hong Kong aims to show Hong Kongers that fashion can be fun while still being socially and environmentally responsible.
